Love Park

The Love Park or officially known as John F Kennedy Plaza got its name from the iconic Love statue in the plaza. It was designed to be a terminus for the Benjamin Franklin Parkway as it is situated across the City Hall. The curved steps made of granite and the ledges of the park made it one of the favorite haunts of the skateboarding enthusiasts. However, a law passed by the city enforcement in 2002 caused much dismay and an organization called Friends Of Love Park was formed which organized a signature campaign and raised almost 1 million dollars to bring back street skateboarding back to Philadelphia's Love Park. The Love Park's other main attraction is the fountain, the waters of which is dyed into different colors depending on various special occasions. Our travel guide tells you more about the park.
