
National Museum of American Jewish History Philadelphia Touring - Complete Demonstration of Educational Programs and Experiences
The National Museum of American Jewish History is located on Independence Mall which is within the premises of Independence National Historical Park. The museum was founded in the year 1976 and currently shares the building with Congregation Mikveh Israel. The museum has current plans of expansions, which includes a building a 100000 square foot five story building with most modern architectural patterns.
The new building will be located close to landmarks like Liberty Bell, National Constitution Center, American liberty and Independence Hall. It will be a symbol of modern day American Jewish Community. The new museum is scheduled to open on November 2010. The state of art new museum will have exhibits which incorporates the lives of American Jews from 1654 till date.
The new hall will feature 25000 square feet of Gallery space on three of its floors. Another 5000 square feet is allocated for changing exhibition hosting. The ground floor of the hall will exhibit multimedia exhibitions entitled "Only in America". This exhibition will portray the accomplishments of many great Jewish Americans. The museum has over 20000 strong collections depicting the diversity of American Jewish since the colonial period.
Among the artifacts they have 18th century Silver Ritual Objects and embroidered textiles of the Jewish immigrants. Original jewels, books, paintings, manuscript materials are among the other exhibits in the museum. On each of the museum floors there are exhibits which speak volumes about the American Jewish culture interactions over the centuries. This museum may be called a Jewish Encyclopedia because of the in-depth story then tell.
