
Truly a Landmark - Helpful Guide for Fun with Arts in Woodmere Art Museum in Philadelphia
Located amidst historic 19th century stone Victorian mansion in a six acre land of Philadelphia, Woodmere Art Museum was opened for the general public in the year 1940.
The Victorian mansion was originally built in 1860 for housing rare collections of art. A 450 square foot gallery was later added to this mansion in the year 1902. Later the ground was broken for building a two story rotunda gallery complete with balcony. This place is now referred to as Catherine Kuch gallery, a center piece of museum donated and dedicated to the city - Woodmere Art Museum.
The permanent collection of this museum includes more than 2500 regional art works with a view to celebrate the art and artists of Philadelphia region. Nine galleries and salons including a grand rotunda with unique Children gallery make this place perfect for exhibiting both permanent collections and several other special exhibits round the year.
In addition to its art exhibits, Woodmere Art Museum is also known for conducting art training classes to children and adults round the year. Besides these various other public programs like lecturers, tours, trips are conducted here.
With the sole intention of providing access to various art education resources, an impressive library along with slide registry is maintained here. Today this prestigious Art Museum includes nine galleries and salon with 8-12 exhibitions every year.
