In the year 1825, the name was changed to Logan Square in honor of James Logan who was Penn's secretary. More often than not, this is now being referred to as the Logan Circle from the time when a traffic circle was developed on the square itself when the parkway was being refurbished. Jacques Greber was the one responsible for the renovation of the parkway. He said that he wanted to have a tall monument at the heart of the circle, which is the same as the obelisk.

There are a lot of institutions surrounding the Logan Square namely the Franklin Institute and the Academy of Natural Science. Thus, it will be hard for you to reach the place especially during rush hours. Avoid this by gaining more Philadelphia travel information.
