Love Park
Are you on your way to travel Philidelphia? If you are and you have brought along your sweetheart, you will surely enjoy the LOVE Park. The official name is actually JFK Plaza but it is more known as the LOVE Park. It is located at the Center City. The name is derived from the statue that was sculpted by Robert Indiana, which overlooks the whole park.
This was built somewhere in the year 1960 and in 1980, there were some teenagers who discovered that the stairs are well curved. They thought that this is the perfect place for skateboarding. So if you like skateboarding, you will definitely want to enjoy here since this is known all over the world as the capital for the said sport.
The place is well known since skateboarding works better if they are done on natural features instead of those manufactured ramps. Since then, the LOVE park is now an official site for the X Games on ESPN. It is also the home of several notable professionals in the sport.

However, there were untoward accidents that happened in the park, which is why the authorities have enforced a skateboarding ban during the year 2002. This made a big dent on the impact of the park to the youth as well as a tourist attraction. Thus, in 2004, a group was formed to solve the problem. The city then agreed to ease up the prohibition against skateboarding in the park. The group was called the Friends of LOVE Park or FOLP. They were able to present a solution for the problem while making sure that the park users are also regarded.
