The National Liberty Museum is an impressive experience for visitors of all ages. It serves a unique role in the cultural landscape of the city. How to get to the National Liberty Museum? The museum is situated in the center of historic Philadelphia at 321 Chestnut Street. It's just two blocks from the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall that can be reached by car or by public transportation with ease.

From I-95 S - Visitors from this direction can take Exit 22 for Historic Area. When you come to the bottom of ramp, go straight on Second Street for Chestnut Street. You can find parking along Second Street between Market and Walnut Streets.

From I-95 N - Head north on I-95 N toward Exit 20. Take Exit 20 for Washington Avenue. Proceed on and turn left at S Columbia Blvd. Then you need to follow signs to Market Street. Take the first left onto Second Street. Parking is available along Second Street between Walnut and Market Street.

From I-76 - If you're coming from I-76, take 676 East to Eighth Street Exit. Turn right onto Eighth Street at the first traffic light. Proceed on Eighth Street and make a left turn onto Market Street. Continue to turn right onto Fourth Street. There you can find a public parking garage between Market and Chestnut Streets. If the garage has no vacancies, switch to your left on Chestnut to the parking garage located on Second Street.

- Public Transportation

Septa buses have many routes serving the area, including 5, 9, 17, 21, 33, 38, 42, 44, 48, 57 and 121. You can also take Septa Regional Rail Lines and stop at nearby Market East Station. It's a short bus or subway ride to the museum. The Septa Market-Frankford Subway also stops at Second and Fifth Streets on Market. Then you can just have a few minutes' leisure walk to the museum. - Book Signing by Owner of Old City's Fork Restaurant

Forklore by Ellen Yin, the successful owner of popular Fork Restaurant, tells the restaurant's story, including its renovation in good taste in the central area of Historic Old City in Philadelphia. Ellen Yin will meet you on Tuesday, August 30 from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Reservations are required before August 25 for this free public program.

- "Life After Oprah" and Other TV Topics

Philly TV columnist and award-winning blogger Laura Nachman will give an interview on ever-changing television world. The topic - What will we do without Oprah, is worth anticipating! The event will be held on Wednesday, September 14, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The whole program includes several sections, like Q & A, discussion and television trivia with prizes. The public program is free of charge, but requires reservations. Please RSVP before September 14th.

- Meet "Cruel Games" Author, Rose Ciotta

Big fans to Rise Ciotta will be happy. This celebrated reporter and editor at the Philadelphia Inquirer will be coming to the museum to sign copies of her book "Cruel Games". The free public program will take place from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm on Wednesday, November 16.

Adults to the museum need $7 while seniors only need to pay $6. Students' admission is $5. Children aged 5-17 will be charged $2 when accompanied with an adult. Children less than 5 years old are free of charge. Take advantage of the "Family Admission" of $15 which includes admission for two adult family members and all of their children. Museum members can enjoy free admission.

National Liberty Museum also offers the best possible experience for group tours. Three types of guided tours are offered. Each tour is guided by a professional museum educator, who serves the group with a personalized, engaging and interactive experience. Stand Museum Tour lasts 90 minutes. The Extended Museum Tour is 120-minutes in length and provides additional time in each gallery.
