Activities are abundant in Philadelphia, as the city has numerous fun things to see and do at all times. The city caters to people of all age groups and there is something in this colourful, lively city for every individual.
Starting with Philadelphia's rich history and culture, there are a large number of museums and art galleries that can be visited during Philadelphia travel. The National Liberty Museum, Rodin Museum, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Atwater Kent Museum and Mummer's Museum are to name only a few. The Please Touch Museum is another popular museum for children. Not only is it one of the best providers of indoor activities for families with young children, but it is located well- just off the Parkway.
Art galleries like Gallery Joe, Lock's Gallery and Gross McLeaf Gallery are well known art galleries with fantastic sculptures, mixed media works and paintings. Philadelphia is also often referred to as a shopper's paradise because of the many welcoming, customer-friendly shopping districts located all over.
From Chestnut Hill to Walnut Street, the city has a wide range of shopping zones. Rittenhouse Row itself provides a chain of salons, restaurants, galleries and upmarket boutiques, along with several music, dance and theatre venues.
In summer, Philadelphia hosts innumerable free concerts on the banks of the river at Penn's Landing. Fireworks, street festivals and lively music are all part of the Fourth of July celebrations here and there are plenty of activities to keep anyone busy at this time!

The Philadelphia Zoo is another great place for adults and children alike. The zoo provides plenty of activities regularly to keep its customers busy and is an excellent reason why one must travel Philadelphia, when with family.
The city has quite a few bus tours, including the Double Decker hop-on-and-off bus tours that tourist often prefer. The Haunted Philadelphia Spirits if '76 is yet another tour, though this one is a walking tour that takes you through the cobblestoned streets of Philadelphia and provides frightening tales about the city in an attempt to spook tourists.
