Rittenhouse Square
Travel Philadelphia now and you will see for yourself just how different this amazing city is. There are a lot of things to offer for the first time travelers and for those who have been here as well. Among the places that you should visit is the Rittenhouse Square. This is a park that has been planned by the founder of Philadelphia, who was William Penn along with Thomas Holme at some point in the 17th century.
Formerly, the place was known as the Southwest Square but in the year 1825, the name was changed into Rittenhouse in honor of the famous astronomer and a clockmaker, David Rittenhouse. He was a descendant of William Rittenhouse, who was best known for his contribution making the first ever paper mill in Germantown in America.

the Rittenhouse Square is known for its quality. Even though it has long been created for several years now, it is still kept in its best residential excellence. The government and the architects especially Paul Cret played a huge part in the renovation of the square. Cret was one of the responsible individuals behind the refurbishment of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway as well as the building surrounding the area.
Paul Cret designed the entrances of the Square and the central plaza as well. A good Philadelphia travel guide will give you a lot of information and the historical background of the place. For many people, those who are able to live near the square is a symbol of prestige. However, you will not find private homes in the area though you can still find apartments and some condominiums that are right next to the property.
